nearly halfway through the year. where did the time go.

anyway, not a ton of news this week. the good news is that my savage static disbanded! it doesn't sound like it, but this really is good news: reclears have been so miserable that we were just plain failing to reclear, and morale was abysmal. i like the people i was raiding with, but we had roster issues and all told it just wasn't working out. (the irony is that i don't think the fight we were struggling with is all that hard...)

in any case, i'm not sure whether i'll continue this savage tier; i really could use a break from raiding. i still have the criterion group on the weekends, which is going really well (we made it to savage statice intermission!) but it's nice to have free time back. i like raiding a lot, but it's been taking up a lot of my time for the past six months and the idea of having two free nights a week is so appealing...

haven't played a ton more of trails sc this week, but i have time this evening and am hoping to make a solid dent. will make a post about it later, i think; there were some wild twists in chapter 3 and i'm still reeling. i'm about halfway through chapter 4 now.

hoping to get back to fic writing this week, for the first time in months. i've been writing steadily, but it's all been my self-indulgent oc stuff that's just for me. it would be nice to write something new i can actually share.

lastly, physical therapy continues. my legs are very unhappy with me and i've been struggling with it a lot, but we persist... somehow. the worst part is that i have to walk to and from my physical therapy sessions, which is doable since it's on the same block as my apartment, but also: the physical therapy is for my knees and walking any distance hurts like hell right now. at least i have a knee brace.

a few weeks ago i mentioned i was going to try reading a book. it took me this long, but hey, finally got it read! better than never, i suppose. i didn't particularly like or dislike it, so i'm unlikely to read the sequel, but at least it got me reading again. now i've just got to decide what to read next.

i've had a little extra free time to play trails SC after i had some raid nights cancelled, so i'm further along in chapter 3 now. it took a while, but plot is happening and i'm really enjoying it, to the point that i'm just going to play that tonight instead of grinding in ff14 for once :') baby steps.

physical therapy is going well and there's been a small but noticeable difference. here's hoping it helps. i did get a knee brace from the doctor last week, so i've been wearing that on and off.

haven't been able to change tracks on what i've been writing, unfortunately, but i've written 50k for the year as of today. i'm really glad i've been able to write again this consistently, i missed it a lot. i'm continuing to make posts about it on my writing journal, diali.

oh, i finally got around to adding new icons! i need to find more clive icons, tbh. every time i think about ff16 i like clive more. every now and then i scroll through his tag on tumblr and reblog a dozen posts and come to terms with the fact that there's probably a clive site in my future. i haven't been able to work on website stuff lately but i'm hoping to pick it back up some this week.

i think that's it for this week. tbh last week was super busy for me personally so i'm glad things will be calmer this week.
