La bonne année
Je la vois dans tes yeux
Ne dis rien, on est bien
Tous les deux
La bonne année

Christmas

To all my friends who are sitting in cold winter apartments with interrupted electricity, to my old friends meeting Christmas in dugouts and trenches instead of spending it with the family.

Let the aggressor who broke our peace burn in deepest and hottest hell. Or even better - freeze in deepest and coldest Coldharbour.

Une âme

J'aimerai un son, une fusion
Ni être un homme, ni être une femme
Y'a t'il un nom, une solution
Dans ma langue, ça s'appelle une âme

Alors tu seras mon apparition
Monte en moi cette sensation
Je me sens vivre, comme je suis
J'suis pas un homme, j'suis pas une femme
Juste une âme, une âme, une âme
Une âme, une âme, une âme

This is actually the closest to what I want to add to the quarrel concerning 'being born in a wrong body'

It's Kyiv, but anyways.

Des neiges de Kiev
Au ciel lavé
Des baisers brûlés
Est-ce si loin demain?

Il faudrait se survoler
Apprendre à garder les rêves
Jusqu'à la nuit tombée
Pour nous retrouver à Kiev...

Tonight I just want some soft and gentle sound and touch in this alien world.

Flook is 30

My favourite folk trad band Flook celebrates 30 years today :)
Found my own very old video from visiting their concert for the first time.

I have discovered something incredibly beautiful (just watch this video).

This guy says that he went to the countryside and was spending time at his grandma's farm playing guitar and singing for cows. He found out in a book (and then in the field) that cows are real melomans who even give more milk after listening to classical music.

Overwhelmed by the result, the musician stopped eating meat (I understand him quite well, trying to do the same) and started to play for animals in farms, refugees and zoos.

I've seen some videos of people playing for animals before, but never so profoundly touching.
In the middle of the clip there is an orangutan family listening and one of them starts clapping to the song.
This is the most heartwarming thing I've seen in a long, long time.

Music is indeed a universal language, and animals are much closer to us in terms of emotions that some might think.

Pure, infinite perfection.

They are perfection.

Every concert, every album, every composition.
I still remember their concert in Irish Center Hammersmith, London in 2009, one of the brightest memories of my life. And also Brian Finnegan's arrival to Kyiv to play with Boris Grebenshikov several years later.

Bright, intelligent and in the same time incredibly kind people. And super talented musicians.

Playlist link from Spotify. Super relaxing and mind-resetting. I often listen to them while working at the computer.

Here the musicians are performing a beautiful piece by Italian Baroque composer Arcangelo Corelli, far less known than Vivaldi but not less beautiful.

Here the music of Corelli (again variations to The Spanish Passion) as a soundtrack for a short animated film Le moine et le poisson (what idiot managed to designate it as a movie for 3+ kids I do not know, it's definitely not).

Here the famous Spanish musician Jordi Savall and his family ensemble are performing popular Renaissance/Baroc dance called 'Folías de España' (The Spanish Passion).

This music was in the soundtrack of my favourite French film 'Tous les matins du monde', fictional story of the French composer Marin Marais. Here his variations on Folías de España are performed by another musician, on the period instruments, in particular viola da gamba, the prototype of the modern cello.
